Homework problems in the “HW with Excel” column are to be completed using Excel.  Similarly, homework problems in the “HW without Excel” column are to be completed without Excel.  All problems are in Sincich unless otherwise indicated.  Remember that all odd problems are already completely worked out (excluding Excel work) in the student solutions manual!   If you have any questions about these problems, please ask about them at the beginning of class, post a message to the message board, go to my office or virtual office hours, or ask a GTA in the help session room. 

NOTE: Although these homework problems will NOT be turned in for a grade, you should expect to see similar problems or these exact problems on tests and projects.  You will be at a great disadvantage when taking tests and completing projects without doing these homework problems.

14 14.1 (Instead of a line plot in a., do a side-by-side dot plot using box_dot_plot.xls), 14.3, 14.13 a b, 14.40 14.8, 14.10a-c, 14.15, 14.16 a-c and perform multiple comparisons of means, 14.71 

In addition to the parts of each problem given in Sincich, do the following for each:

  1. Identify the response variable, factor, treatments, experimental unit, and blocks (if applicable).
  2. Construct and interpret side-by-side box and dot plots. 
  3. Perform and interpret the Bonferroni multiple comparisons procedure for each problem.
